Consul General participated in a panel discussion entitled “California-Armenia International Relations and Trade”

Consul General Anna Avetisyan participated in a panel discussion entitled “California-Armenia International Relations and Trade” organized within the framework of the inaugural meeting of the California State Assembly’s Select Committee on California-Armenia Mutual Trade, Art and Cultural Exchange.

The inaugural meeting of the Select Committee was chaired by California State Assemblymember John Harabedian. California State Assemblymembers Jessica Caloza and Nick Schultz delivered opening remarks. Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the United States Narek Mkrtchyan also participated in the meeting virtually and delivered remarks.

The panel discussion featured Eleni Kounalakis, California Lieutenant Governor and California’s representative for Trade and International Relations, as well as Tricia Utterback, the trade representative responsible for Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India of the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development.

In her remarks, the Consul General highly valued the establishment of the Select Committee and expressed hope that it would continue to serve as an important platform for discussing issues related to the bilateral agenda of Armenia-California cooperation.

Anna Avetisyan highlighted the progress achieved in the Armenia-US bilateral relations and underscored the importance of the full and effective implementation of the provisions of the Armenia-California Framework Agreement, as well as deepening cooperation in the areas stipulated by the Agreement.
