The Consul General participated in an event dedicated to the Armenian International Medical Fund’s “Cochlear Implant” program

Consul General Anna Avetisyan participated in an event hosted by the Armenian International Medical Fund. Consul General of Japan in Los Angeles, incumbent and former officials of the cities of Glendale and Los Angeles, as well as community representatives and benefactors also attended the event.
 
The event featured a comprehensive presentation of the AIM Fund’s multifaceted activities, highlighting the remarkable outcomes of pioneering surgeries carried out in Armenia within the framework of the cochlear implant program for children with hearing impairments. Ongoing research initiatives, future priorities, and the Fund’s sustained partnership with Armenia were also outlined.

In her remarks, the Consul General underscored the importance of the AIM Fund’s mission and its close collaboration with the relevant Armenian institutions, emphasizing that such cooperation has made a meaningful contribution to the continued strengthening of Armenia’s healthcare system, the advancement of innovation, and the enhancement of professional capacities.

Consul General conveyed profound appreciation to the AIM Fund’s President and Founder Salpy Akaragian, for her steadfast commitment, as well as to Professor and physician of the University of California (UCLA) Akira Ishiyama, whose decades-long and impactful contributions have significantly advanced the development of healthcare in Armenia. Anna Avetisyan also noted that his work stands as a testament to the enduring Armenian–Japanese steadfast friendship rooted in shared humanitarian values.
 
Among the event’s Honorees were Kristina A. Kvien, former US Ambassador to Armenia, currently the President and CEO of Pacific Council on International Policy and Paul Krekorian, Executive Director of the Office of Major Events of the City of Los Angeles.
