An event at Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America, dedicated to the friendship between the Armenian and Japanese communities of Los Angeles.

On February 8, 2024 and event dedicated to the friendship between the Armenian and Japanese communities of Los Angeles was organized at the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of Northern America. Members of both communities, Consulates General of Armenia and Japan, representatives of Los Angeles and Glendale city assemblies and many others, were among the partcipiants of this event. Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Mr. Paul Krekorian, President of Los Angeles City Council, Mr. Kenko Sone, Consul General of Japan in LA and Mr. Karen Israyelyan, Consul General of Armenia delivered short speeches. Musical and dance performances were presented by the Armenian and Japanese artists.

Mrs. Maria Mehranian from the "Armenia" Fund and Mr. Roubik Golanian, Manager of the City of Glendale made interesting presentations about Japan. They were both members of the delegation led by Archbishop Derderian, which has visited Japan last year by the invitation of the Government of Japan.

During his speech, Consul Generel Israyelyan touched upon the current state of Armenia-Japan relations as well many similiarities between the two nations.
