CONSUL GENERAL OF ARMENIA IN LOS ANGELES AMBASSADOR ARMEN BAIBOURTIAN MET WITH THE NEW MAYOR OF GLENDALE PAULA DEVINE

GLENDALE - On April 15, Consul General of Armenia in Los Angeles Ambassador Armen Baibourtian visited the Glendale City Hall to congratulate the newly elected Mayor Paula Devine and to discuss with her cooperation programs between the City of Glendale and the Consulate General for the upcoming period. Armen Baibourtian congratulated the new mayor wishing her many successes in accomplishment of her mission and emphasizing the importance of Glendale not only for the California Armenians but also for Armenia, Artsakh, and all worldwide Armenians.

The interlocutors discussed the issue of immediate release of the Armenian prisoners of war (POWs) and civilians held hostage by Azerbaijan, and discussed practical steps to help address this issue. Ambassador Baibourtian and Mayor Devine agreed to hold specific events jointly organized by the Consulate General of Armenia and the City of Glendale and outlined new cooperation projects.

The Mayor of Glendale is selected among the five elected city council members for a one-year term. This is the second time Paula Devine has taken up this position. She first led the city during 2016-2017 years. She was elected to the Glendale City Council in 2015.
