Armenian-American Museum in Glendale

On December 9, Consul General Armen Baibourtian and his spouse Yvette attended the Armenian American Museum Inaugural Gala at the reputable Ray Dolby Ballroom in Hollywood. Well over 1,000 Armenian community members, supporters and officials attended the Gala, which was organized to honor donors and supporters of the museum initiative, including local and state elected officials.

California State Senate President pro Tempore Toni G. Atkins congratulated the honorees of the evening and highlighted the special bond between the State of California and the Armenian American community.

Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger presented a $1 million check for the cultural and educational center. Museum Executive Chairman Berdj Karapetian delivered the message from the Museum following a powerful video called “Nation of Builders” featuring the schools, churches, monuments, and community centers built around the world by the Armenian Diaspora leading up to the Armenian American Museum project today.

Featuring world class cultural education, the Armenian American museum will be first of its kind in the United States. The museum’s program will include permanent and traveling exhibitions, a performing arts center, a learning center, museum archives, a demonstration kitchen and more. The Armenian American Museum holds a promising mission to promote an understanding and appreciation of America’s ethnic and cultural arena, educating the public on the legacy of Armenians in the United States.
