25th Independence Anniversary of the Republic of Armenia

The Independence Day of Armenia may have already passed, but events dedicated to the 25th Anniversary of it continue to take place in Los Angeles. With mutual collaboration and hard work of the Consulate General of Armenia in Los Angeles and the Iranian Armenian Association, the celebration continued by a Grand Concert with a world renowned violinist Sergey Khachatryan at the Pasadena City Ambassador Auditorium. The talented violinist along with Belfry Symphony Orchestra under the conductorship of Mikayel Avetisyan performed the most well-known compositions of Aram Khachaturian, along with other ballet suites and Violin Concerto In D. The audience took great delight in the concert and later had the opportunity to speak with the violinist, take pictures and share their joy and appreciation.

The event was attended by the Ambassador of Armenia to the United States Grigor Hovhannissian, representatives of the Consulate General of Armenia, as well as community leaders, council members, artists and many music lovers.

The concert, dedicated to the 25th Anniversary of Independence was symbolic because of Aram Khachaturian's compositions performed by Sergey Khachatryan. That was yet another proof of the great contribution Armenians have had, and still continue to have in the world of music. Aram Khachaturian has already left his legacy in the world of music and composition. Today, young Armenian artists such as Sergey Khachatryan follow the path to leave their own footprints and remind the world of Armenia and its incredible talents. "This also served as proof that the connection between Armenia and Diaspora, which has been strengthened in the past 25 years also continues to prosper through culture," said Deputy Consul General Valery Mkrtoumian. He noted that events dedicated to the 25th Anniversary of Independence of Armenia in Los Angeles will still continue in October.
