CONSUL GENERAL OF ARMENIA IN LOS ANGELES AMBASSADOR ARMEN BAIBOURTIAN MET WITH LOS ANGELES CITY COUNCILWOMAN MONICA RODRIGUEZ

GLENDALE - On June 9, Consul General of Armenia in Los Angeles Ambassador Armen Baibourtian held a virtual meeting with Los Angeles City Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez. Ambassador Baibourtian expressed his deep appreciation to Monica Rodriguez for her support to the Armenian issues, including the Los Angeles City Council resolutions on Armenia and Azerbaijan in the context of the 44-day war against Artsakh.

Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez, in her turn, expressed her readiness and commitment to further continue her cooperation with the Armenian community. The interlocutors discussed the implementation of inter-community programs in the Armenian-populated cities of Councilwoman Rodriguez’s 7th Council District. They particularly discussed plans for the Armenian-Latino inter-community cooperation within various fields.

Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez was elected to the Los Angeles City Council in 2017, becoming the first woman elected to serve the Seventh District and the third Latina to serve on the City Council. She represents the neighborhoods of Sylmar, Mission Hills, Pacoima, Lake View Terrace, Sunland-Tujunga, North Hills, Shadow Hills, and La Tuna Canyon.
