CONSUL GENERAL OF ARMENIA IN LOS ANGELES AMBASSADOR ARMEN BAIBOURTIAN MET WITH CALIFORNIA ASSEMBLYMEMBER LAURA FRIEDMAN

GLENDALE - On June 8, Consul General of Armenia in Los Angeles Ambassador Armen Baibourtian held a virtual meeting with California State Assembly member Laura Friedman. As a follow-up to their meeting in the framework of the California Armenian Legislative Caucus in Sacramento in May, the interlocutors further discussed the avenues of cooperation between Armenia and California. They noted that the 2019 Framework Agreement provided a fertile soil for expanding and deepening cooperation.

Consul General Baibourtian highly appreciated Assemblymember Friedman's active participation in the works of the California Armenian Legislative Caucus. Armen Baibourtian and Laura Friedman emphasized the importance of multidimensional cooperation between Armenia and California through implementation and actualization of mutually beneficial programs.

Laura Friedman represents the 43rd Assembly District, encompassing the cities with largest Armenian population in Southern California: Glendale, Burbank, Pasadena, Little Armenia in Hollywood, La Crescenta-Montrose, La Canada Flintridge, etc. Laura Friedman chairs the California Assembly Standing Committee on Natural Resources and Select Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship. Prior to her election to the Assembly in 2016, Friedman was a member of the Glendale City Council. She also served as Mayor of Glendale from 2011 to 2012.
