AMBASSADOR BAIBOURTIAN PARTICIPATED AS A KEYNOTE SPEAKER IN ANNUAL GALA OF THE ARMENIAN ENGINEERS AND SCIENTISTS OF AMERICA

GLENDALE - On November 16, Ambassador Armen Baibourtian participated as a keynote speaker in the 36th annual GALA of the Armenian Engineers and Scientists of America (AESA) at the Glendale Hilton Hotel. He touched upon talked about the development trends in the High Tech in Armenia. Ambassador Baibuurtian noted that young specialists who return to the homeland after studying in the best universities abroad replenish the HighTech sector and other sphears in Armenia. He expressed appreciation for the programs being implemented by the Armenian Engineers and Scientists of America, wishing the organization many more years of effective work.
The Victor Hampartsumyan medal, traditionally awarded at the annual AESA gala this year was given to Prof. Sarkis Mazmanian of the California Institute of Technology for research on the bacterial structure of the intestines. In his speech, Mazmanian said that his research has led to a new medication which is undergoing field trials for possible treatment of autism spectral disorder.
The programs of the American Armenian Engineers and Scientists of America implemented in Armenia and Artsakh were presented at the event.
