Consul General visited the UCLA Promise Armenian Institute

Consul General Anna Avetisyan visited the Promise Armenian Institute at University of California (UCLA). During the visit, the Consul General met with UCLA Vice Provost for International Studies and Global Engagement Professor Cindy Fan, Director of the Promise Armenian Institute Professor Ann Karagozian, and members of the Institute’s faculty and academic staff.

The Consul General was briefed on the Institute’s principal academic and research initiatives, including Armenian Studies, Armenian Genocide Studies, and Interdisciplinary research, as well as research and public impact programs in such fields as healthcare, archaeology, ethnography, social sciences (sociology), engineering and physical sciences, Armenian music, art, and culture.

Commending the mission and achievements of the Promise Armenian Institute, which has been operating at one of Southern California’s leading universities since 2019, the Consul General emphasized the importance of strengthening ongoing cooperation with Armenia.

In this regard, Consul General highlighted the significance of close collaboration with Armenia’s educational institutions and research centers, the implementation of student exchange programs, and the organization of reciprocal professional and academic visits aimed at fostering the exchange of expertise and best practices.

At the end of the visit, the Consul General toured the Promise Armenian Institute and the UCLA campus․
