Meeting With the Religious Leaders of the Armenian-American Community

LOS ANGELES- Consul General Armen Baibourtian visited the religious leaders of the Armenian Community of the U.S. West Coast. At the Western Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in North America, the Consul General met H. E. Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, the Primate of Western Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church of North America. At the Western Prelacy of Armenian Apostolic Church of America, Armen Baibourtian had a meeting with the Prelate H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian. At the office of the Armenian Evangelical Union of North America, the Consul General was hosted by Rev. Berdj Djambazian, the Minister to Armenian Evangelical Union of North America, Los Angeles clergy and the members of the Religious Council. At the Armenian Catholic Eparchy of the United States of America, Armen Baibourtian, the Consul General of the Republic of Armenia, met H.G. Bishop Mikael Mouradian.

During the meetings with the Armenian religious leaders of the West Coast, the parties discussed questions related to strengthening the relations between the Armenian community and the Consulate General of the Republic of Armenia, as well as deepening the relations with Armenia, issues of concern to Armenian-Americans and religious, cultural and educational programs addressed to the entire community. The importance of engaging young people in these programs was highlighted. During the meeting, the religious leaders and the Consul General also talked about the importance of the initiatives aimed at Armenian education of new generation of Armenian-Americans and strengthening their Armenian identity.
