Consul General of Armenia visited the USC Institute of Armenian Studies

Dr. Armen Baibourtian, Consul General of Armenia in Los Angeles, visited the USC Institute of Armenian Studies at the University of Southern California on February 7 to meet with Salpi Ghazarian, Director of the Institute.
Salpi Ghazarian and the rest of the staff of the Institute briefed the Consul General on the Institute’s on-going and upcoming programs, in addition to laying out the long-term vision of the Institute as think tank for investigating Armenia’s and Diaspora’s challenges.
During the visit, Consul General Baibourtian and Director Salpi Ghazarian discussed the Institute’s flagship program Innovate Armenia taking place May 18, 2019, which will focus on the challenges facing new Armenia; the digitization and documentation programs related to the Diaspora and the Republic of Armenia; as well as the USC Policy Fellows Program, a pilot project that places government employees from Armenia in policy planning positions throughout the City of Los Angeles to learn from and contribute to the process of improving lives in both cities.
Consul General Baibourtian expressed his support to the programs of the USC Institute of Armenian Studies and willingness to establish strong bonds of cooperation.
