GLENDALE - Ambassador Armen Baibourtian, Consul General of Armenia paid a visit to Glendale Community College (GCC) and was received by Superintendent/President Dr. David Viar and senior member of the Board of Trustees Dr. Armine Hacopian. They introduced in detail to the visiting dignitary this public educational institution known for excellence and innovation. Afterwards Ambassador Baibourtian was given a tour of the college facilities at Verdugo campus.
Glendale Community College was founded in 1927 to meet the public education needs of the city’s population. Starting with 139 students, the college has today become one of the best public colleges in Southern California with 25,000 students. GCC is also known for its diversity. 36 percent of the students at Verdugo campus and 49 percent of the Garfield campus are Armenians.
